Happy Thanksgiving 2021

I’m at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, and I’m feeling blessed.

Is it where I’d like to be this morning? No.

Am I thankful to be here? You better believe it! I’m alive and well.

This is not a “poor me” story. I am blessed beyond measure.

I finished the initial round of chemo last evening. I got to ditch the IV pump I’ve dragged everywhere the last week.

And, if ever a man knew he had friends, I’m that man.

Rarely have I seen such an outpouring of support from family, friends, friends of friends, acquaintances, and strangers. Thank you!

Our family is doing well and are home for Thanksgiving, pretty much like normal. I’m the lone holdout, but we’re connecting. Thank God for technology. This is always a big holiday for us.

Although we continually give thanks, we understand that it’s good to make a special effort on this day every year. We have so much to be Thankful for each year. I’m reminded of God’s admonition to the Israelites to keep a book of remembrance of the things He had done for them. Don’t forget the source of all that is good in your life.

Express your thankfulness openly to one another.

Share your joy.

Ask for help where you need it.

Trust that God has your best interest at heart.

This is not a test. This is not a trial. God loves me!

I’ll end with a favorite quote.

1) God is good.

2) The devil is bad.

3) They never change roles.
